Other Animals
Fallow Deer, some of which can be hand fed, live in the woods; Muntjac Deer and Wallabies roam the grounds but are usually shy apart from Dasher, our inappropriately named three legged orphaned Muntjac who enjoys a gentle tickle from his friends.
Scottish Wildcats (Britain’s rarest mammal) are in a pen in the old quarry and are here as part of a breeding and reintroduction programme.
There are eight species of Birds of Prey including Karulah (Bengal Eagle Owl), Tooky (Snowy Owl), Skylar (Harris Hawk) and Jack (Kestrel) who are all hand tame and can be seen out on the weathering during the day near the tea room.
